Back From Seattle

Spent a week with Rob, Melanie and Samuel out in Seattle. Had a great time. Main objective to get to know Samuel better, and I think we accomplished that goal. We had the best time playing with him and he is certainly is a dear little boy. Goes non-stop all day long. We went over the mountains to a quaint town, Leavenworth and spent time in the stores there. Then on to the Grand Coulee Dam. Why would you go there, you ask? Well, about 30 years ago when Bob was a pup at Westinghouse, he spent some time on a generator there. He was absolutely thrilled to be there and see it all again. And we all played along with him. No seriously, it was pretty interesting. The trip was fun too, had never been over the mountains before.
Now we are back home, I had arthroscopic surgery for a torn miniscus last week. So this week I am learning to walk again. Ouch!! Still trying to figure out retirement. We have decided to go ahead and wipe out 2008 and let it be a wash. Looking to have it more together in 2009

I'm tying to figure this out.......retirement

I have been trying to figure out this retirement.  I retired on December 14 and on the 15th Bob went into the hospital and stayed for 1 month with heart surgery, etc.  Then for the next 6-8 months, we were in cardiac rehab. Now in the past couple of weeks, we have probably lost all our retirement money with the financial crises.  Some one help me figure this out.
I will have more to say on these subjects later, but thought that this might be a good retirement outlet , blogging.  Ted, has a blog over at "Stragglingband" and he gets a lot of action on it.  Rob has a blog at rgillgrist@wordpress.com.  Melanie has a post at "roadtosamuel.blogspot.com."
So, I decided I still have a few things to say, and want to keep up with that younger generation.
